"Most of these horses are registered. Nice mares and stallions (obviously need to be gelded). Early to late teens. They are barely halter broke. Most of them are healthy, with a few skinny ones. We went and picked up a mare today. They have a deadline before seizure and slaughter (according to owner). As of now 23 are left waiting to be picked up. They all need feet done. They CAN be haltered, but most of them have never been in a trailer. The studs are separated from the mare by at least 3 fences, so SHOULD be safe there. The youngest horse there is 12 or so.

I have the contact info, its also on this board https://www.facebook...groups/LCHorse/

Please be kind as the owners are elderly and the people taking charge are friends trying to help. They come with registration papers.

I think a lot of these animals have already found homes, according to some of the Facebook posts I've seen. My boss is the one going out to do the exams & castrations (if needed) this week. I can get more info after that visit, I'm sure.

Veterinarian by day, and some nights, and most Saturdays, and every 6th weekend and holidays. Wannabe photographer the rest of the time!

Obviously, I can't give out specific medical information, but my boss was the vet who went out to look at these animals today. There are 10 horses still on site, most of which are stallions. Per his information, the owners are keeping 2, 2 others should probably be euthanized due to advanced age and chronic, untreatable medical conditions. All in good body condition (ranging from 3 1/2 to 5 on BCS score), feet in desparate need of attention.
