James O'Neal died today, he was 70 years old...died of an apparent massive heart attack and was found in his pasture.

Grew up showing with his three children and he was our clubs youth director. Seems like I have known him my whole life. He was always very good to me and will be missed. But as all of us true "horse" people know, dying of a massive heart attack in your pasture much better than a lot of the alternatives.

I considered James a friend, as with most people he had "rotten" spots. We didn't always see eye-to-eye but that was okay. He named a goat after me one time, he thought that was very funny, guess it was. LOL He was very supportive of me when life threw some tough times my way, and I always remember and appreciate those times.

I think James tried very hard to do well and make things better...as many do that are from humble beginnings. I feel sad that he is gone.
I hope the last few years were good to him, and that he found what we all ultimately are looking for...Joy and Peace.

His struggle here is over...may he rest in peace.
