So, after a rather boring (although very successful) region 1 this past week/weekend, we have decided we would like to make the trip up to region 3 next month and take our chances at qualifying at the preshow. We were told there that region 3 is a LOT of fun!

With that in mind, I am hunting for hotels and have some criteria and am hoping I can get some good feedback here.
1) I can't tolerate smoke or a smokey smelling room, so not sure ANY of the casino hotels will work.
2) want free high-speed internet and some kind of fridge in the room (for my 3-year old milk addict.)
3) needs to allow small dogs
4) Not heinously expensive (will pay up to $70/night)
5) clean and QUIET with decent working air conditioner
6) within about 3 miles of the show grounds

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! We really need to keep our costs down since this show was not in our plans for the year

Yes, Stacy, I'd love to meet you finally. We aren't 100% sure we're going--need to get a consensus amongst the show clients in the barn, but we're really thinking about it, and finding a decent place to stay for inexpensive is going to be a big factor. Reno is weird--not a ton of chain hotels and the casinos seem like they could be really dirty/stinky/scary.

Lots of great places to stay near the LEC. Some of the Casinos are wonderful and the food is fabulous .
The huge arena is air conditioned and a great place to "beat the heat" in July , especially if you like watching classes.

We stay at Silver Legacy! The hotel is far enough from the Casino you usually don't run into issues. We have had small dogs there, but cant remember if they allow them. With the military and show discount you will get nice rates!

From what I rememeber there is a Days Inn across the street from the Fair grounds. My mom and I used to stay there. They also have a pool.

OK, I'll check the Silver Legacy, too! I stay away from Days Inn as much as I can. They are usually dumps, or at least to me they are I am funny that way!

It's very close to the show . It is in an area of busineses that will be closed at night . Downtown you have more security, Reno PD and hotel security, if that is a big concern . Reno really is pretty safe in the tourist areas . There are some newer chain style hotels near the airport which would be within 3 miles of the show, I'm not sure about the dogs though . Holiday Inn Express , a Hyatt and a La Quinta .

Amy---I think you will have a blast at this show---its always a good time and the barn party is the best!
