I have always been a fan of NV Beau Bey.

Very athletic looking and siring offspring that are both pretty and can be ridden in a variety of disciplines.

Plus, he was a very kind and gentle stallion when I had the chance to visit him. :)
Look back on our struggle for freedom,
Trace our present day's strength to its source;
And you'll find that man's pathway to glory
Is strewn with the bones of a horse.

I have been looking through my old copies of California & Southwest Arabian magazine from 1988 and 1989 and came across some old ads for Irene's Flaying A Ranch and who can forget the beautiful Syrtaki, MS Rafiq and Saud El Ameer!!

Kindly,

Ann

Although not a show horse. Ala Charm would be my pick. Although I cannot find a photo, Charm made his way into many hearts as Walter Farleys Black Stallion at the Arabian Nights in Orlando.

I've been doing my research, and when it comes to both color and usability, as well as location (California), I think Curundu Saladin would have to be one of my picks. Beautiful black endurance horse, has many great black performance horses in his pedigree, with two up close crosses to Bahim Hisan, El Mokhtar, and his tail female line traces to Radia. Not much promotion as far as I'm aware of, but if I could find a line bred Botswana mare, maybe with some upclose Bahim Hisan and El Hilal (maybe I'm dreaming lol), I would have my perfect endurance and dressage mount. I also really, really like TDR Whitestone, and his sire Ravenwood Royalty. Such great minds on these horses, as well as athletic prowess! I love that TDR Whitestone is ridden by a 14 year old girl bareback, in the ocean, in the show ring, and is doing so well in reigning. His sire is also very beautiful, and athletic, and versatile. I love how both of them are so well trained; it shows that they are not only beautiful and athletic, but also extremely intelligent and kind. Here is TDR Whitestone, and if you look on the threedayranch website, he also jumps 3 feet with almost no training! Yet another reason why I love these guys. Posted Image

And for those that love black stallions from movies, let's not forget TC Bey Cedar, half brother to NV Beau Bey and "Al Hattal" from the movie Hidalgo. This stallion is probably not the one if you are a head hunter, but this Bey Shah son has done very well in Western Pleasure for the small amount he has been promoted, and he's 15.3 HH. I very nice performance horse with another awesome mind. Posted Image

Earlier in the thread, "KK War Knight" was mentioned several times and I just wanted to add a picture of our black stallion, "Knick" who is a "KK War Knight" son out of "Pelanesilhouette" who was sired by "Arn-ette Perlane". Our guy has been successful in the MR in Hunter and also in Sport Horse. He has gorgeous type and passes it on to his get. Even his Half-Arabians have very beautifully dished faces. Best of all he's a real sweetie!! Just wanted to share!!See his video on YOUTUBE. Just type in "Canterberryarab" in the search box, then click on his name!disk_pictures.jpg
