It rolled in through the window like a title wave.  We looked at each other and both held our breath.  SKUNK!!  Suddenly Pam asked "Did you bring the dog in?"  UH OH!  You can guess the answer to that one.  I opened the front door and was greeted by a dirt and leaf covered, odorific canine.  We have no tomato juice in the house so we tried shampoo, NOPE.  Now he smells like a disgusting combination of shampoo and Pepe Le Pew.  Pepe may have been adorable but there's nothing adorable about our dog at that moment.  Pam brightened and said "Tomato soup!"  It may not be as good as tomato juice but it did reduce the smell mostly.  He's crate trained and has been banished to the living room.  The outside smell is dissipating and Pam has Fabreezed the inside of the house.  Tomorrow morning it's off to the store.  Life in the country is never dull.

So this morning we have discovered the secret to social distancing.  Jake wants to be with us but we definitely know when he's coming.  LOL  A quick Google search shows a formula to make our dog smell dog like a dog again.  Time to go shopping.

I understand your pain - but you have to admit that having a baby skunk sit on your foot and beg for treats is pretty cute.  Just wish I could have gotten a picture of it.

Currently have four baby (about two lbs?) raccoons that come to score cat food every night - too cute
