You'd think they were dying of thirst but they all have fresh water in each corral.  Mattie and Quazi are inspecting my Sunday morning water cleaning and others come by to check on the results.  I'm never alone and I love it.  :D

That's great Mike.  My boys have been drinking lots the past 2 weeks with the rising temperatures.  Do you prefer the rubber tanks over the metal tanks?

I would prefer the rubber tanks except I've had too many close calls w/the water heaters brandishing a hole right through the tank.  That said, I do have 2 rubber ones when they were $20 cheaper and needed to replace my metal tanks.  Seems like the metal ones clean out easier IMO, but after several years, the seals do break down and I end up having to repair them.

btw, I think this is the first time I have seen your dog in your videos.  What is her/his name?  Very cute!

I use the large round colored plastic buckets, two per corral, and the two 65 gal tubs pictured in the video.  It has been warm to hot here for awhile and their water consumption has increased for sure.  We clean and fill the buckets every other day so they have fresh water at night.  I haven't used metal containers in many years.  They do enjoy their fresh cool water.

Jake is a rescue dog of course.  Named for the John Wayne movie Big Jake in honor of his dog named "Dog"  Ironically Haven Humane picked him up just two blocks from my work place.  If I had ordered a dog by a checklist he would have checked off all the boxes.  He is quiet unless someone comes onto the ranch then he won't bite but with the air raised on his back, teeth bared, menacing approach, and the growl and bark, he makes people back up a step or two.  He won't touch the dry cat food but will sneak a bite of the wet food if he can.  Never chews on anything not treat related, never messed in the house, and has never chased any of our cats.  He LOVES and Lives to chase a ball and is a natural horse herder.  He also will try to eat the red laser light dot.  LOL  They said he was about 13 months old when we got him but we suspect he's a bit younger.  When he would overeat from ball chasing he would find any wet muddy spot to lay down.  I bought him a $9.95 dog pool from Tractor Supply and so far it is a huge hit.  In fact he's in it several times a day and is one of the most exercised and clean dogs in Calif.  Pam is a cat person but now Jake is her dog.  LOL
