It's been a bit quiet here lately and while there's still a few friends still posting here I thought I'd better get some advice now. On June 6th 2020 it will be our 50th anniversary and I'm trying to think of something special. I'll need to start saving for it now and start the planning. Instead of the "usual" stuff and places to go I thought maybe a trip to the Emerald Isle for a bit of horseback riding through the country. I think Pam would be delighted but I will have to learn to ride an English saddle. LOL A B&B with a few bits of touristy stuff thrown in should add to the fun. Anyone who can put up with me for that long deserves something special. Has anyone else done this? Opinions or other ideas welcome.

That sounds like one of the MOST romantic and fun trips EVER!  It's one of the things on my 'wish I could' list.

I'm starting on my lengthy quest for the perfect trip I ran across this:

http://www.horsedrawncaravan.com/

It looks like fun and its got the perfect name, Mayo Horse-Drawn Caravan, but Pam brought me back down to earth.
"Let's see if I got this straight. You are on vacation and want to feed, care for, and harness a horse everyday?"
"Sure, it sounds like fun."
"Well I hope you can find the time after you make my breakfast and pack everything for the days travel because I'm not on vacation to cook and clean."
That gave me the thought that maybe this wasn't a great idea for this trip, besides I want to eat Irish food, not mine. LOL

If anyone here would like to tag along on this trip, on your dime, you're more than welcome. On the things that could be shared, rooms etc, we could split the costs which would make the trip a little less costly for you. It should be a lot of fun, just PM me. Better hurry as we leave in about 2 1/2 years. LOL
