I am expecting one foal here at the farm -- I only bred one mare.

Om El Najeeb Dream bred my mare LR Breathless via live cover.  This was his first time, and he did great!  I bred her one time at the beginning of her cycle and she showed heat for 5 days after we covered her.  I am hoping for a filly!  They are both blacks but since they are each heterozygous black I do have a 25% chance at a chestnut foal.

Expecting two - by Sol Debut out of Showanna (Showkayce+) and Ezalia (Eden C). Both due in May. Sadly, I lost two - one after pinching a twin and another during the extreme heat wave, so I let the season go for more after that. Breeding the mares earlier just in case we get hit by the insane heat we had last year again.

Ugh.....Long time to wait for us.  Living vicariously through others this year, although we do have an Antham baby baking in Eastern Washington for an outside breeding.

Antham x Zuzia, expected early June-ish

Well I had a surprise last night. I got a mare in July and the previous owner told me that she had been out on the range with his Quarter Horse stud the previous summer and that he would like the foal. Great, fine, no problem. The mare never foaled this summer, so I didn't worry about it. Going out to feed mares last night and there is a surprise colt. So my foaling year started sooner than I anticipated. My first foal wasn't supposed to be due till the first of July. Anyway, I will get pictures in the day light, but for now here is the dam. She is a nicely Russian bred mare with the most amazing temperament.

This is our surprise addition. He is sired by a foundation bred Quarter Horse Stallion and is out of a Russian bred Arabian mare, Burtanna (TR Hosanna by Mussiah+ X Garanea by ES Samit Melik). Our strapping big boy, a chestnut Half Arabian colt.

Ok, stupid question, but I'm a Texas gal and that white stuff is foreign to me :)

 Isn't the foal cold???

No actually he was born equipped with all the stuff he needed to stay warm. He's got a nice winter coat, is healthy and is doing great. :)
