I finally got most of the photos uploaded and wanted to share this guy! This is HC Elitist, Pogrom x Gtf Psylk Rose. He is unclipped/unconditioned. <3 Elitist's personality and mind and how well built and balanced he is! He reminds me of his sire in many ways, and I am a bit over the moon! It's going to be hard waiting to ride this guy, his movement is lovely and fluid and he is just a doll. We shall see what showing we can do; I'm not a halter trainer, so I have to find a trainer I'd trust with him. Once he's old enough to ride, we'll have some fun. :) In the meantime, plenty of things to teach him on the ground!

Nice colt, similar to my filly in how "beefy" they both are.

I plan to get my filly going undersaddle before I think of breeding her.

Looking at the 5 yr pictures probably reaffirms my sense of why some halter folks aren't getting the neck they had hoped with Pogrom.  I really appreciate the horse  because of his abundance substance and good overall structure.

Your colt has the same substance as his sire... he's  a good one.

Hoping the Pogroms make decent performance horses.

Out of curiosity, what is it about the necks that halter people aren't happy with?

Thank you all!! Liz I love your Pogrom filly!!

I also love the Pogrom neck. SportArab I've been told Pogrom's neck is more 'european' which I tend to really like, and apparently it didn't bother the judges when Pogrom came in! I think his neck is a bit thicker than some of the necks we've seen more recently. Beautifully shaped, great throatlatch, personally I love it, and I have really liked what I've seen of his foals. I value the performance aspect most, and I will be choosing mares with an eye to that, hoping for halterability as well, but performance first; the very first thing I look at in a video of a stallion or mare is how I think their gaits would feel to ride. I like long rides and don't like being bounced about at any gait! Pogrom is my ideal arabian, I know what I want to improve on him, but I just love what I saw, both in build and movement, and it is so consistent. And as much as he won in halter, I would have loved to see him compete under saddle here, because I think he would have done very well; he looks like a funn ride. The other QR Marc/Polish crosses have that same effortless power and grace in movement, and I also love the personality I'm seeing in the line; they always carry themselves a certain way. Elitist's dam line is something I am very familiar with and also love--She is Psyche x a GG Samir dtr x an Aramus dtr x a Serafix dtr. The other Psyche x wayne newton & crabbet breeding horse we had is a serious athlete... very fast and powerful, quick turns, he is spectacular in the athletic department, and an endurance horse who could've raced on the track. I also used to have a Bey shah son x a GG samir dtr gelding who has perfect legs & feet, very well built, and extremely athletic, he had the ability to go reining, hunter, or almost anything. So I am rather fond of these lines and the result of the crosses therein. I am so looking forward to seeing how he produces! I won't be riding him until he is 4... I feel it's important to let their legs and body mature that far before I get on, ugh such a wait!! :) But we'll have fun on the ground in the meantime--obstacles and liberty work, and all the preparations to getting on.
