My very first foal! Born July 9th 2011. She stands at almost 12h, and seems to be growing by the second. I would love a conformation critique on her. What do you think about her in halter? Or would I be better off taking her sport horse? I am very excited about her, she is just a doll. I have been working on teaching her halter, she takes the stance easily but we are nowhere near a hard stand up. Her mother would have been great for working western, she was built like a brick s*** house. Nobody could believe she was an Arabian. Had a big quarter horse butt. It was all baby weight though, she now looks like she should.

Is 12h normal for a horse of her age? Dam was about 14.3 and sire is about 15h.

She has a big 'ole belly spot too. It was a tiny little spot when she was born, now its the size of a dinner plate.

It was so small then, but so was she

The "brainchild" of the breeding was NOT Nancy Hillairie. I am sure I have obliterated her name. She bred CMK for awhile. I would love to get in contact with her and show her this filly. She was very interested to see the pairing..

ETA: NOT Nancy's idea to breed the mare back to her son, I was told this by the previous owners but it was not true. I finally was able to talk to Nancy herself about this mare. Quite certain she was not treated well in one of her homes before me. Nancy says Basks Fashion was always a sweet, kind and fearless mare who loved her owner. As of 5/9/2014 that has become very obvious. Her foundation was 100% love, she just got a bad hand somewhere along the way that made her nervous/fearful but she has blossoming back into the mare Nancy described to me.

I didn't think purebreds could carry splash? I am gene testing her for Agouti and SB1. Although I have heard SB1 has not yet been found in Arabians.

She also has body roaning, slight tickling. White hairs at the base of her tail, the skunk tail look and almost a saddle scar type mark at the base of her withers, just a collection of white hairs there too. She is the sweetest little thing.

Arabians absolutely do carry splash :)
There are a lot of obvious splash Arabians, and your girl is one of them, luck you! All those Arabians with blue eye(s)? Those are splash.
See how your filly's markings are very round and smooth looking? That's splash. Sabino likes to put on "rough" splotchy edges. Also, bottom-heavy, lopsided snips are giveaways as well.
