Hi Jenny! How is your little horse family these days? Do you have new photos of your latest acquisition? Share, please!

Hi!

If you mean the canine daughter? She is wonderful!! She loves her horsie brother and sister, but somehow the two girls got "tangled" up a bit yesterday, and Mags had to gallop her 70lb self to Mom for some comforting. After Mags had a nap in the house, we went out to make nice.

No equine additions for me, I'm under barn-arrest of sorts ;)

Poor horse looks like he's ruined!

He won 2 National Championships at 19 years of age in 2007!!!

I cried like a baby when they pulled his shoes and backed him out of the arena in 2007. I did it again watching the video of the magnificent horse being retired. WOW!

A word about the nasty HJ practice , it is RAPPING, not "wrapping"---two people hold the ends of the top pole, and as the horse clears the jump, they purposely hit ("rap") his front legs with the pole, teaching him to tuck his legs up tightly while jumping.

If you want to read an interesting fictionalized expose' of the international hunter/jumper world, I recommend "RIDERS" by Jilly Cooper. She does know a lot about horses and human relationships. Not a book for the kiddies, rated R-17.
