Gorgeous Egyptians, and their history. Love to see photos, and some of their history.

One of my favorites,
*EL MAREEKH
Born: February 23, 1975
Died: February 17, 1982
Imported by Les & Lois St. Clair of Reddick, Florida in 1979
Sired 38 purebred foals in United States

*El Mareekh became an outstanding success in the show ring. His impressive trot, which displayed his tremendous balance and energy would have alone been enough to capture anyoneís attention, but add to that a long, laid-back shoulder, good croup, hips and withers, plus a wonderful disposition, and you had a show horse supreme. In a short show career of just 26 months, *El Mareekh garnered an impressive collection of wins and honors. 1981 was his top year, starting with a Top-Ten at Scottsdale and ending the year as a Top-Ten at the US Nationals. The St. Clair Arabian Stud was on a roll. Just a few months later, in February of 1982, disaster would strike from which the St. Clair farm had to struggle to get over. *El Mareekh was mistakenly fed hay infested with blister beetles and the gorgeous black-bay stallion died as a result. He passed away on Feb. 17, 1982, just a week short of his seventh birthday. He left behind some good sons and daughters, including MFA Mareekh Amir, MFA Tale Mareekha, and Ibn El Mareekh, whom the St. Clairís continued to use as their replacement sire.

*Morafic
Nazeer x Mabrouka by Sid Abouhom
March 19, 1956 - March 18, 1974
Imported in 1965 by Douglas and Margaret Marshall, Glennloch Farms
Foal crops 1960 to 1966 in Egypt, 1967 to 1975 in the US

Judith Forbis in Authentic Arabian Bloodstock, 1990:
"*Morafic (Nazeer x Mabrouka), 1956 stallion became one of the most influential stallions of all time through his get in Egypt and America, after he was imported by Douglas Marshall as the foundation stallion for Glennloch. He looked you square in the eye demanding equal status with man as a child of the Universe and he exulted in his right to be there. His children inherited his free spirit, courage, intelligence and dignity. A vision in pure white, Morafic's elegance, spirit and regal bearing proclaimed his aristocratic birthright. In our era his noble purpose was to excite the imagination and create human interest in preserving the classic beauty of his Egyptian heritage. In ancient time Pharaoh would have claimed him to draw his battle chariot!"

Douglas and Margaret Marshall in Glennloch Farms Final Legacy Sale:
"As one of the most eminent sons of Nazeer*, and whos get and grandget have carried his name into innumerable championships, *Morafic's place in history of the breed is certain. For nine years in Egypt and another nine at Glennloch Farms, *Morafic sired foals inbred with their father's most beloved qualities: spirit, refinement and a presence that captivated all who saw him. *Morafic sons and daughters have won seven National Championships, seven Reserve National Championships, 29 national Top Tens, six National Futurity Championships and 30 get-of-sire championships."

May I add to this lovely writeup that *Morafic is STILL the all time leading imported Egyptian sire of National winner producers....the leading straight Egyptian sire of champions and National winners and National winner producers is El Hilal...

Thank you for sharing the information and mooooore egyptians history, please! Many of us (like for example me) know very little about arabian's history. All information is really very appreciated.

"The horse, who is too precious and too beautiful to be ridden, is neither precious nor beautiful. It's simply called an impaired horse by merciful Allah."

old Bedouin proverb

EL HILAL (*Ansata Ibn Halima x Bint Nefissaa)

Leading Straight Egyptian Sire of Champions and highly regarded for producing great conformation, refinement and beautiful head type. The El Hilal family is also known for its exciting show presence and heart.

El Hilal-is by three-time U.S. Top Ten Stallion *Ansata Ibn Halima. He is the only imported Egyptian stallion to sire a U.S. National Champion Stallion (Ansata Ibn Sudan) and Mare (Fa Halima).

El Hilal's dam *Bint Nefisaa is the dam of four champions and four producers of national winners. Her offspring include Moynese (dam of Canadian Top Ten Gelding Taj Mo Ali) and Nourah (dam of U.S. Top Ten Futurity Filly Sidra and Canadian Top Ten Futurity Colt Le Baroque).
Both *Ansata Ibn Halima and *Bint Nefisaa are by the great progenitor Nazeer, sire of three national winners and 23 producers of national winners. El Hilal is a pure in strain Dahman Shahwan, since both his sire and dam are from the tail female line descended from Farida.

*ADHEM+ 1967 black stallion (Alaa El Din x Zabia, by Adham)

*Adhem was imported as a 3 year old in 1970 by Joseph and Trucillia L. Enz of Dalton City, Illinois, who owned him until 1975 when he was sold to Golden Future Arabians of Temecula, California.
Most of his descendants are doing horses with substance and conformation, yet still beautiful inside and outside. They are able to perform in nearly every class from Racing to Park. Some of them have national results in Jumping, English and Western Pleasure, Costume, Driving, Endurance, Reining and of course Halter.

My favorites are *Ansata Ibn Halima, The Egyptian Prince, El Hilal, ET Crown Prince & last but most def. not least the beautiful RDM Maar Hala!
I create thee, Oh Arabian. To thy forelock, I bind Victory in battle.
On thy back, I set a rich spoil And a Treasure in thy loins.
I establish thee as one of the Glories of the Earth...
I give thee flight without wings."
