Well as I learned with my false pregnancy mare you never know even if they are huge...but she sure looks pregnant, I don't blame you one bit for thinking she could be.

Can you get a vet out? I know the drill believe me, very frustrating these girls are!!

I don't know a ton about mini's but heard you have to be there when they foal. Anyone else know if this is true? Not saying you would not be but sometimes you know how the mare has it when you go in for coffee? Well I was told you can't even do that!! This is one reason I never want to breed minis ....regular foal watch is bad enough.

The 2 year old filly was still nursing?

Minis have probably the highest rate of dystocia of any breed, and I've seen some very ugly results to both mare and foal as a result. I would not hesitate to get this mare checked with a bag that looks like that.

Veterinarian by day, and some nights, and most Saturdays, and every 6th weekend and holidays. Wannabe photographer the rest of the time!

I would try not to let her have it alone, just because like cvm (who is a vet and so wonderful to have her here) said, the breed is known for foaling issues.

I have heard it time and time again. I just adopted a 21 year old mini stallion and the people have been breeding them for years, they had closed circuit TV and all due to how risky it is.

Either way, I really wish you well with this and hope that if she is in foal you get a healthy and happy baby!! I also hope that you find out soon for your sanity.
