I'm just starting to ride hunter again after a layoff of several years. Sold all my tack then and am buying new (used!! Hello, eBay...).
I'm wondering what size stirrup I need?? The widest part of my boot sole measures 4 inches.
Never paid any attention to it before, but this time I'd like to get it right.

With your little toe agianst the outside branch of the stirrup, you should be able to get a couple of fingers next to your big toe-so maybe an inch and a half, two inches. Big enough so you don't get caught but not so big your foot will slide thru.
